Finance Learning Standards Expert Advisory Group (FLSEAG) Chair, Professor Iain Watson (Executive Dean, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, The University of Queensland) has confirmed members of this high level advisory group.
In 2013 the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) commissioned the development of finance learning standards for Australian bachelor and coursework masters degrees, supported by the Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).
In July 2013, ABDC confirmed the senior finance academic members of the Finance Learning Standards Working Party with Associate Professor Kevin Tant from Monash University as Chair. This working party will develop the finance standards consulting extensively with the academic and practitioner finance community and with high-level guidance from the FLSEAG.
The FLSEAG reflects the interests of a range of key stakeholders in finance higher education, industry, professional bodies, employers and private providers. The FLSEAG will meet on 14 April and 22 September 2014 to review the initial and final draft standards respectively. From May 2014, the Working Party will consult with ABDC member schools for input into the draft standards.
The final standards are expected to be released by mid October 2014.
