Australian business schools perform well in QS world rankings

Sat, 01 Mar 2014

The recently released 2014 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject show that Australian business schools continue to perform well on the world stage in business fields of expertise.  These rankings complement findings in the QS World Rankings by Faculty 2013.

In the assessed disciplines and out of the top ranked business schools and faculties in the world, Australian business schools represent:

  • Seven out of the top 50 business schools in Accounting and Finance.
  • Six out of the top 50 business schools in Economics and Econometrics.
  • Six out of the top 50 social sciences and management faculties.

For a country with a population less than one percent of the world population and approximately one third and one twelfth of the UK and US populations respectively, the rankings are a testament to the quality of the academic endeavour within Australia's business schools, ranking us among the world's best.

Now in its third year, the QS World University Rankings by Subject is an extension of the overall QS World University Rankings. The subject rankings draw on indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty productivity and impact, research citations, and specialist knowledge to form an international ranking of higher education institutions.  Read more
